He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.

-Clarence Budington Kelland

Our dad is the best because . . .

  • He takes us to school
  • He takes us to the range
  • He likes to go to Starbucks with us
  • He wrestles with us
  • He prays with me at night time
  • He knows lots of lines in Napoleon Dynamite
  • He listens to music with us on his iPod
  • He plays catch with us
  • He goes to my games
  • He lets us shoot his guns
  • He feeds us nachos and stuff
  • He brings us prizes
  • He scammed mom into a flat screen tv
  • In some categories, he listens to pretty decent music
  • He never makes me eat bananas, 'cause he hates them, too

We love you, Dad!

Love is patient . . .

The past couple weeks have probably not been what Colton would have chosen.

He did not choose to be an All Star.

He did not choose 2 hours at the ball park each night.

He did not choose watching multiple baseball games every weekend.

But he (and a few of his buddies who are in the same predicament) is making the best of it.

While still doing a lot of watching and wishing.

Your turn is coming, buddy. Thanks for being patient.

Life is good today

I cringed as I awaited the report from Chance's dentist.

But, luck was on my side.

He told me that these teeth

were coming in very straight (surprisingly straight, he said).

And they weren't too crowded yet.

And we could wait on these

for another 6 months or so.

Life is good.

These are the moments

Judd, Dad, Heather

My Grandma Grace was in the area this week from Arizona, so we headed to my parent's house on Saturday to visit.

Angus

Holden

The kids all got along great, and had fun entertaining the little ones.
Chance loves hangin' out with Angus

Emma is always ready to help with the baby!

It was a fantastic day.
A couple 4-generation photos with Dad & Grandma

My Uncle Bill was feeling well enough to come and visit for awhile - an unexpected surprise.
Grandma, Uncle Bill, and the cousins: Katie, Judd, Heather, Heidi, Theresa

Grandma Grace and her kids: Bill, Marcia, Dale, Chuck (missing Cheryl)

My Grandma looked great, and spent her time surrounded by one of her many great-grand kids.

Grandma Grace and 1/3 of her Great Grand kids:

Emma, Holden, Gracie, Angus, Chance, Laura, Colton

Thanks, mom! As always, your house was a welcome haven for many great memories.

In the books

The Pirates last game of the season was last night.

Colt had a great game. One hit, some good plays in the infield, and an entertaining game in the outfield.

So, pretty much par for the course!

As you can tell, some of the kids were more than ready to be done :)

"Sun" Lakes

Well, it wasn't extra sunny.

We never made it to the lake.

We battled schedules, call-outs, and wind.

And still managed to have a great time, full of:

Friends

Family

Hikes

Contests

Swimming

Games

Visiting

and plain old FUN.
