Recipe Wednesday

It's Recipe Wednesday! Darla and I decided to do some appetizers today, so you could all be prepared for your graduation parties, Memorial Day celebrations, etc. Head over to Darla's to find more great appetizer recipes this week!

Meat Dip
From: Jay Crabill
2 pounds lean ground beef
2 pounds pork sausage
1 package (32 ounces) Velveeta cheese
16 jar (16 ounces) Picante salsa

Brown ground beef and pork sausage until no longer pink. Add sliced Velveeta mixing into meat mixture. Add Picante sauce and let simmer until heated through. Serve with crackers or tortilla chips.

We just keep this in the crock-pot on low/warm, and let everyone snack on it throughout the evening.

Italian Pinwheels

1/2 c Mozzarella Cheese - shredded
1/2 c Pepperoni or Ham - finely chopped
1/2 t Italian Seasoning
1 Egg - separated
8 oz Crescent Dinner Rolls

Combine Cheese, Pepperoni, Seasoning, and Egg yolk. Mix well.

Separate dough into four rectangles. Firmly press perforation to seal. Spread each rectangle with about 3T pepperoni mixture.

Starting at the short end, roll up each rectangle, and pinch edges to seal. Cut each roll into 6 slices. Place 1" apart on greased cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg white.

Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with pizza or marinara sauce for dipping.
